Transcript information

This is just a reminder that I turn in all grades for this class on August 26th. St Thomas will then send you the official grade document. THEN you can send for your transcript. They will not send it to you before. I just found out that I can issue you a form that indicates that you have successfully completed the course and you are awaiting the grades and transcripts from St Thomas. If you need one of these verification forms please let me know.

Final

Create a brain based unit that you will use early in the fall semester that incorporates ideas from the book and other students. Keep in mind the eight multiple intelligences as you design the lessons, especially the assessment. You may complete the unit using your district's curriculum template or any other method you are comfortable with. You may post it on the blog, send it to me by email, or send it to me by snail mail at 936 Linden Ave, Rice Lake Wi 54868. If you choose the email or snail mail route, please leave a title of the unit and a brief discription on the blog in case others would like a copy. Thanks

Questions for each chapter

Please use the 3 questions that I posted for the first chapter as your questions for all the rest. Please indicate which book you are reading (BB for Beginning With the Brain and Secrets for Secrets of the Teen Age Brain) as well as which chapter. Now you are free to complete the course at your own pace. It is not necessary to respond to every persons comment but make general responses as you feel the need. It is not a big deal as far a the grade goes. The other things are more important to me especially your unit at the end. If you have further clarifications let me know.

From Fear to Flow/Teen Brain:Under Construction

Please answer these reflective questions about the chapter:

1. In what ways might you translate the principles presented in this chapter into practical everyday useful ideas?

2. If these things are, in fact true about the brain, what should we do differently? In what ways might you suggest we start doing this?

3. If you were to plan your next step for making your curriculum more brain-based what would that be?
