I'd like to call your attention to The Contitutional Rights Foundation that has great activities for all levels to teach kids conflict resoulution, goal setting, democracy in the classrooms,etc...Especially for K5...check them out at www.crf-usa.org
What a great opportunity for students to get involved with the elderly...I was working with two teachers and they formed a relationship with members of an assisted living house and they went over every month..At the end of the year they had a pot luck at the school and it was attended by the kids and their friends as well as parents and administrators...What a wonderful event and there were tears, laughs, and lots of hugs...Great PR move as well as a super learning opportunity for both kids and the elderly...They still do it and the administration and board love it...
